Unassigned shift - a shift without an assigned employee.
An unassigned shift has all typical shift parameters (start, end, activity, lunch breaks, assigned group and point), but has no assigned employee.
Cases when creating an unassigned shift is purposeful:
- If an employee fell sick, has taken unscheduled leave or is unable to work a scheduled shift for other reasons
- If an employee leaves employment, and there are shifts that must be covered
- If the aim is to improve the efficiency of the work schedule due increased flows, and additional shifts are created, but it is not clear who the shift should be assigned to
The unassigned shift field is displayed in the Actual work schedule version only
Restrictions:
- An unassigned shift cannot be created in the previous period
- A shift cannot be edited or deleted after the shift date
- Invitations cannot be sent to employees after the shift date
- Solely employees using a mobile app can receive an unassigned shift invitation
